Memories

Some of the memories that I have made or remembered are back when I was a young teen. My parents were going through a rough divorce and they did not want to get me involved so I was sent to boarding school in Chelsea, England. The name of my school is Hanover Prep. I remember it greatly because I loved it there. I loved everything about England and school I mean have you ever just found a place or something that makes you feel happy inside and makes you feel wanted. It is like a whole new world. I remember at lunchtime I would take the tube with my friends, we would go into London, and we would first look around in Harrods for any new clothes that we liked. Harrods is a very upscale ritzy department store in London. Then we would walk down the street from Harrods and eat at a cafÐ"©. We would eat bacon buddies and drink soda. To top it all off we would have a flake bar and then would leave. Bacon buddies are just slabs of bacon, still very greasy, put on a toasted hamburger roll. They would then wrap it up in paper and you could see all the grease and the butter oozing from the paper. It smelled amazing. We would usually drink a soda with it. I, however, whenever I was leaving, would always buy a couple of flake bars. Flake bars are just long rods of chocolate. The name flake is used very literally. I would usually eat one as I was walking back to the tube station. Then I would eat the other on the ride back. Then I would put the rest in the freezer at school for later. They are best when they are frozen and cold. The ride back to school was always interesting. Sometimes it was very crowded; other times it was empty. I always liked seeing what people’s habits were. There was always this one guy and he would sit right next to the door and read the NY Times. When it was his stop, he hastily got off. It was interesting to watch him because he never lifted up his head from his newspaper. Most people in the car would look around and see what other
