Mentally Disabled people are HUMAN

Mentally Disabled people should receive help as much as they possible can, not forgetting the fact that they are human beings. If your child were mentally disabled, whether it is physical or mental, would you go through all kinds of medical technology to help your child just to be looked at as being 'normal'? And by being considered normal, this means you would do whatever it takes, including the risk of death just to have your child be accepted in today's brutal society? Or would you rather leave your child as God created him/her? Whether it be going through all sorts of crazy medical technology, or leaving your child as God created them to be, mentally disabled people are Human too.

Being born mentally disabled in no way, shape, or form makes your child 'odd' or not normal. Charlie Gordon, in the book flowers for Algernon written by Daniel Keyes had a hidden handicap; he had a learning disability causing his IQ level to be lower than most people of his age, therefore people classified him as being 'mentally disabled'. "Learning disabilities, in education, any of various disorders involved in understanding or using spoken or written language, including difficulties in listening, thinking, talking, reading, writing, spelling, or arithmetic. They may affect people of average or above-average intelligence. Learning disabilities include conditions referred to as perceptual handicaps, minimal brain dysfunction (MBD), and mental retardation, emotional disturbance, or cultural or environmental disadvantage"( by neuropsychiatries Alfred A. Strauss and Laura E. Lehtinen). Medical technology in this day and age are becoming really extreme, causing the risks to make a person something other than who they originally are much immune to sudden dysfunctions.
