The definition of a friend, according to the typical dictionary explanation, means a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard, a person who is on good terms with another. But looking back at all the good times I had with my friends, I know that a simple dictionary definition cannot explain the true meaning of the word friend.
I remember the day we first met as though it was just yesterday. It was right here on the grounds of the American College of Dubai on the 11th of September and it was my first day at college. Naturally, I was feeling nervous and was desperately hoping that I would not lead the next year in college without any friends.
But then my eyes caught a young girl sitting in one of the chairs, her face looking downward, wrenching her hands so tightly that her knuckles appeared white. When I asked her what her name was, she replied in her sweet, high pitched voice. She was none other than our very own classmate and a friend to most of you, Miss Doi.
The first impression that I had of her was that she was very talkative. Once we started talking there was no end to our conversations. Many people confuse us with each other and some have also told us that we look so alike we could be sisters.
This 19 year old Cancerian has a very bubbly personality. You can never get bored when you are around her. She has this enormous amount of energy in her and that is why she hates being idle. Whenever you see her she’s always on the go.
