Moral Compass

Personal Integrity

Intuitively, a compass guides the user with the right direction, and a moral compass also gives its user the right direction which focuses on the moral problems. Moral compass is a like a teacher, it help the users learn to establish the moral foundation to face the challenging and demanding world. People use their moral compass to build up the inner value of themselves, it gives people to original motivations or reasons to take certain actions such as green light means go, red light means stop. Moral compass is also a self-refection. Through reflection you can identify your moral strengths and weaknesses and work towards strengthening your moral compass. Moral compass also plays an important role in the social conscience, when we collaborate with other people, there are probably people have different opinions of human value.

Wisdom tradition is the basis of moral compass, and my moral compass is heavily influenced by parents and cultural backgrounds, the tradition Chinese culture teaches us to be kind, humble and filial, which I think is very true, so I build my moral compass almost entirely based on the these goodness, such like filial to parents, as I grow up, I am able to aware that how much did my parents sacrifice for me, they always put me at the first place. Although there is a saying that there is no free lunch in the world, they offered me not only free lunch, but free dinner, free clothes, and free houses. So why we can’t do something in return to them.

Same as the compass, the moral compass also has four parts. Moral Vision, Moral Code, Moral Fitness, and Moral Performance make up the directions of moral compass.
