Motorola has a code of ethics (known as their Code of Business Conduct) that commits to a strict standard of integrity. Motorola upholds a system where employees are mandated to show constant respect, abstain from harassing or abusing at any time, and maintain a work environment that follows safety and health rules and practices. Its sales and marketing must be accurate and truthful and all of its products must comply with its quality and safety requirements. In addition, it guarantees security with customer information and complies with legalities in every country that it does business in.
Motorola minimizes its impact on the environment and usage of natural resources in a few ways. Motorola participates globally in recycling programs and adheres to all local recycling regulations in its sites. The Motorola Pollution Prevention System Standard requires each site to conserve natural resources. Motorola's long term goal is to use energy in the most efficient manners. It currently uses renewable energy such as wind power. Motorola has also taken steps towards eliminating harmful emissions from its plants. In 1992 for example, it became the second electronics firm in the world to eliminate the use of chlorofluorocarbons from its manufacturing processes.
