Have you ever been to a noisy and quiet city at the same time? So, welcome to Vienna!
It is a primary Austrian metropolis as it is the capital. Vienna has a population of about 1.7 million from many different backgrounds. It is one of the top cities in the European Union with the highest standard of living thanks to the independent infrastructure. Vienna is a center of culture, history and beauty for many tourists.
Culture is the most important thing for Vienna, including theatres, operas and museums. The Court Theatre (Burgtheater) is considered one of the best theatres in the German-speaking world because of its many debut performances on its foremost stage. Vienna is also home to the State Opera which is the first neo-romantic opera house that was constructed in Vienna. The two biggest museums in Vienna are The Museum of Art History and The Museum of Natural History. They were opened at the same time. They also house many paintings by old masters as well as ancient, classical artefacts. Theatres, operas and museums are an cultural treasures in Vienna.
History shows how old this city is because of it’s architecture, and different wars that were fought here. Vienna was founded around 500 BC as a Celtic settlement. It was also the capital of the Austro- Hungarian Empire. After World War I Vienna became capital of the First Austrian Republic. During the Second World War Adolf Hitler made a triumphant entry into Austria and Vienna lost its status as a capital to Berlin. A variety of architecture styles can be found in the city, such as the Romanesque and the Baroque. The styles range from classicist building to modern architecture. The architecture and the wars of Vienna reveal the tragedy and richness of its history.
