My Cultural Heritage
My cultural heritage is a major part of my identity as a young adult because Cultural Heritage plays a very important role in my life. It is what keeps me attached to my religion, traditions, and beliefs. It also allows me to have a backgrounds and to know where i came from. My cultural heritage is everything i am today it reflects on my language, my food, and my clothing. Also it allows me to connect with someone on a deeper level than others.
My cultural heritage keeps me attached to my religion, traditions, and beliefs because i have an close knowledge of my family’s history. And kids who have a close knowledge of family’s history are usually more well-adjusted and more self-confident than children who don’t. There is just something about understanding your past and knowing you belong to something bigger than yourself that instills confidence. Also families that engage in traditions have a stronger connection and unity than families that haven’t established rituals together. Traditions help family members get to know and trust each other more intimately, and create a bond that comes from feeling that one is part of something unique and special.
I am seventh-day adventist and as a seventh-day adventist sabbath starts from Friday evening and finish Saturday evening. Basically sabbath start when the sun goes down on Friday and ends when the sun set on Saturday. In between that time we can’t watch TV or do any work. It is basically a day of rest. On Friday we sing, pray, and read sabbath school lessons, we invent God into our home. Then on Saturday we go church and sometime we eat dinner there and come home at 6:00.
