My name is Brandon Crosby, I am currently a Junior at Arizona State University majoring in Finance. Since being accepted into W.P Carey at ASU I have learned more about myself and what my potential can be. As a young kid, I always knew I wanted to do something in the financial industry due to my passion for money. This passion started at an early age when my grandparents would give me savings bonds as gifts, and since then I have always had an interest in learning and finding innovative ways to invest and save my money. Outside of finance I love sports, especially baseball. At three years old and all the way through high school I played baseball. Through playing this sport, I have learned how to work efficiently in a team to achieve maximum results and how to be successful while performing under pressure. Learning how to work as a team during my baseball career has also helped me in another thing I value which is education. It was recently in a business project management class I had taken last semester where I was given a group and our project was to go out and find a real-world company and improve a business process within their business. Our team decided to try and fix a problem within Arizona State Universities Tour Services and throughout the project our group worked as a team to come up with a series of documents for a new check-in process that made their employees more time-efficient and less confused. Throughout this project we all had shown a great act of communication and teamwork, and in the end, we had gotten the results that we had desired. Some of my other key attributes that I can provide to a company is my competitiveness, dedication, loyal-ness, strong work ethic, and responsibility. I have learned most of this stuff and more from my family, especially my mother. She works two jobs so that she can afford to put me through school so that I am able to achieve one of my life-long goals. My mother without a doubt has helped shape me into the man I am today and without her I would not have accomplished half of the stuff I have, and one day I hope to provide for my family the same way she has for hers. All this stuff I have learned from my family and sports with the addition of my technological and communicational skills, is the reason why I believe I would be a good asset to any organization.
