Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new [Albert Einstein, German/US physicist, (1879-1955)]. I had come across this quote in my junior year in high school, but never realized the true wisdom that lie in these words until recently. It would in many ways be easier to remain unchanged, unaltered and void of any new experiences, but change is what has facilitated the development of our species to become who we are now. Change is a natural process in our universe and we need to learn to be a part of it. The topic of change reminds me of another quote whose wisdom is now known to me, "To improve is to change. To be perfect is to change often" [Winston Churchill, UK statesman, (1874-1965)]. I have learned now that I need not fear change as change helps me grow in the pursuit of knowledge, as an individual and have a broader understanding of humanity. What could I possible benefit from this change?
For starters, the college I was attending was a private institute (International Academy of Design and Technology), they did an excellent job in teaching us the skill and knowledge required to become successful in our field, but I was left feeling that my education was rather less comprehensive. I wish to train myself with in-depth knowledge in the field of computer science. I believe that this university is exactly what would help me achieve it. A degree in computer science will help explore my creativity during the process of my work and enable me to problem solve issues that may surface.
My interests lie in the topics of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Graphics. I wish to merge them together seamlessly and successfully in my applications. I also plan to take a minor in psychology so as to better understand the thinking process and help me develop better AI. The College of Humanities and Social Sciences will help me develop my ethics which a necessity for me to grow as an individual.
