America’s healthcare is a business where money gets you things you should be able to get without it. Everything in a hospital or medical facility cost money, even to go there it cost money. Even people who can afford health insurance will have to pay to see a doctor. About 40 million American’s do not have health insurance. Those who cant afford to pay for health insurance will be charge more money than it would cost a wealthier person with insurance. Its kind of ironic the poor man has to pay more than the rich man for a service that keeps you alive. Working in the health field is often a well paying job, and a lot of lives are spent due to the amount of money it takes to keep a hospital running.
Doctors often see to be modest about the money they make, and surgeons seem to think that they are underpaid to the service they provide. Life saving equipment is always the most expensive because it is of the highest technology available. A hospital is and an expensive business and seems rather to be somewhat greedy at times. A person’s life is very expensive these days and those who cannot pay the fee will lose it. Hospitals are always going out of business, and these are often hospitals around low-income elderly people. The United States healthcare system seems like it is only meant to serve the middle to upper income people.
Certain states such as Massachusetts have tried to implement a universal health insurance system, requiring all residents to purchase health insurance by law. This idea is somewhat not realistic. Requiring something unaffordable by law is undemocratic. Because of the cost of health care and health insurance, health care is a luxury to some people in the U.S. Through the debates about the recent presidential primaries, a national health insurance policy is very popular and is America goal for the Healthcare industry. No person should be denied of medical attention because they cannot afford it. There are several publicly funded health care programs that provide for the elderly, impaired, military service families, veterans, children, and the poor. Federal laws make sure that every one has access to emergency services, whether they can afford it or not, however there is no official National plan in effect.
The number of Americans without health insurance is constantly rising, along with the number of uninsured children. The fact that health care costs have skyrocketed does not help, with premiums rising four times faster than wages in the last six years. One of the biggest problems is that not enough money is spent on prevention and public health. Less than four cents of every health care dollar is spent in this area, and because of it the country suffers epidemics. Obesity, and chronic diseases have been health issues for years and will be if something in health care changes. New issues threaten lives such as pandemic flu and bioterrorism, but there will always be new health issues. The question is will there be someone in office who can change health care so that it provides proper service to all people of the nation.
“We now face an opportunity вЂ" and an obligation вЂ" to turn the page on the failed politics of yesterday’s health care debates... My plan begins by covering every American. If you already have health insurance, the only thing that will change for you is under this plan the amount of money you will spend on premiums. That will be less. If you are one of the 45 million Americans who don’t have health insurance, you will have it after this plan becomes law. No one will be turned away because of a preexisting condition or illness.”(Barak Obama, Speech in Iowa City, IA, May 29, 2007) Barak Obama is very passionate about our healthcare issues and the people of the United States respond and agree to his views and plans. His plans for healthcare and health insurance are very fair, and will help all people receive the same medical attention
