Islam is the second biggest religion in the world. That's why you're going to keep reading...right? You are going to hear about the history, location, and beliefs of the Islamic faith.
The Islamic religion has had a big history. The founder of the Islamic faith was Muhammad. He lived in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. He believed there was one and only one god, Allah. That was different then it's close cousin Judaism. They believed in many gods instead of one. It's also different that Judaism is a smaller religion than Islam. Though it branched off of Judaism it is now bigger than it, funny huh?
Their location holds a very important part in the Muslim's life. Muslims live most numerously in Saudi Arabia, mostly by Mecca. Speaking of Mecca every Muslim any where most take a trip to Mecca before they die. On less, of course, it proved to be impossible to do. Like if you haven't gone to Mecca and you were on your death bed that would be an exception. Also for religious proposes they have to go to a mosque (their temple or church) frequently for a while. Now do you think you could do that?
The Muslims live by their beliefs. They all must follow the five pillars of faith. Those pillars are:
Faith-all Muslims must proclaim "I believe in one god Allah" every day.
Prayer-all Muslims most pray five times a day looking towards Mecca
Pilgrimage- all Muslims most go to Mecca once in their life.
Almsgiving-all Muslims most share their money with the poor.
Fasting-all Muslims must fast in the month of Hajj.
They also believe in not eating pork or drinking beer. The Islamic people also have the month of Hajj. In that month they fast and have tons of festivities.
