Oedipus Rex: The Collage

Oedipus Rex is a very interesting story involving a king, Oedipus, who is on the search for the murderers of the former king Talius. The story is very involving with many twists and turns.

The story starts with Oedipus a man who through hard work (and a few extra traits) rose to power and eventually married the queen to become king after the first king was murdered. Shortly after, a disease riddles the land and it comes to that the only way to rid the land of the destruction, is to avenge the former kings death. Therefore a declaration for a hunt of the murderers is made, and to help with the hunt Oedipus summons yet another prophet. Who at first, refuses to give Oedipus any knowledge he has on the situation. Only to end up revealing it in a heated rage and telling Oedipus that it was he who murdered the king. The story from there begins to unfold as Oedipus declares that whoever it is that has killed the king will have their eyes gouged out. When finally he comes to that he was the biological son of Talius and in fact did murder his father. Then also realizes that in so married and had relations with his biological mother. With the order he ruled in affect that the killer must gouge out his own eyes he decides to handle it himself, and gouge it his own eyes.

With my collage I decided to use a more modern feel using modern pictures from various sources (mainly the internet,) to symbolize the different characters and actions in the movie.
