In the book Of Mice and Men it talks mainly about two men who try to get a lot of money so they can buy there farm and settle down. The author is George Steinbeck. The year of publication is 1937. It was distributed in Canada by Random House of Canada Limited, Toronto. The book Of Mice and Men is a fiction novel.
There are eight characters in the book. Candy , George , Lennie, Curley, Curley's wife, Slim , Carlson, and Crooks. Candy is an old man that tends to the garden. George and Lennie travel together trying to make money. Curley and Curley's wife are very mean people that are mean to everybody. Slim and Carlson works on the farm helping each other. Crooks is a black man that nobody likes. They are all members on the farm that work together.
There is one main setting in the book. It is a farm in the middle of no where. George and Lennie travel around together going to different farms because Lennie is always getting into trouble because he is sightly retarded. He always does something that gets them fired from the job so that makes George and Lennie go and have to look for a new job.
The book is all about how George and Lennie try to get enough money so they can buy their own farm and Lennie can tend to the rabbits. George and Lennie want to buy a farm that costs over five hundred dollars. They come up with a plan that will get them the farm but it involves another man named Candy that will give them three hundred dollars so they can make their payment. Things are doing just fine until Lennie messes up again. He is playing with a puppy and then he kills it. Then, Curley's wife walks in and sees the dead puppy. Then, Lennie starts to feel on Curley's wives hair. He starts to pull on it and she starts to scream so he panics and he picks her up and starts to strangle her. He breaks her neck while he does this and then he runs off and leaves. All the people start to chase Lennie and try to kill him. Then his best friend
