Open Up
America is known as the "Melting Pot." Why? Because there are so many different cultures that live here in the United States. America has never been just one culture. America is made up of several different ethnicities clashing. I think the United States should keep all doors open to immigrants.
I think the doors should stay open because America would not function the same way if they stopped letting immigrants in the country. What would happen to us? I am sure most of us isn't full blood one race. Who is to say what America is? Each town has mixed cultures and if you were to eliminate all of them but white, most of every town would collapse. The population across the states would drop so dramatically I think it would affect the military and the overall strength of the country. I also think that we should not shut ourselves out from the rest of the world but just increase security. If we did that, then a lot of the terrorism problems will decrease. There are still major threats in cities that don't involve immigrants. We already have so many restrictions to get into the country and you have to go through several processes to just get a passport. As far as moving into the Unites States, you have to be here for seven years to become a citizen. If all immigrants are eliminated, who is going to run gas stations, car washes, and other small business stores. Immigrants usually move over here because they view America as an opportunity for them to get out of what bad circumstances they are in. With that being said they are typically lower in the social class and have blue collar jobs. With exception, some are very intelligent and have some of the best technology or inventions. If they were to stay in the home country, they would of never had the opportunity to benefit the rest of the world.
Now if you look at it differently, there could be a lot of conflict. If Immigrants allowed into the Unites
