Restructuring

Restructuring in the Army is usually done as new leaders are developed. This is done to ensure all soldiers know everyone's strengths and weakness. The effect on each soldier and management is an ongoing learning process however continues to bring the group together and ensures that internally the organization has trust, confidence, discipline, respect, for each soldier and the management.

Nike is in constant movement, and under restructuring. Using the talents of veteran employees and bringing in new and fresh ideas is important to the innovation process within each department. Nike encourages internal movement (Nike.com 2006) where it makes good sense for the employee and Nike.

Economy

Economy in the Army effects organizational behavior at the management level. Soldiers are usually in a position to stay focused on the mission and not be concerned about economy. At the management level this external force causes frustration and headache with the planning and training of a large organization.

Nike considers the economy often before the launch of a new product or after the launch of a new product to track success. Being a retail business it is key in understanding the economy and needs a great deal of attention. If an area of the world is suffering greatly then the possibility of a new product launch will not be successful thus creating a negative twist on Nike's business.

Organizational Mission

Organizational Mission is usually directed by a higher management. The effect is usually inspiring for soldiers and management to get a new mission hoping for something different and challenging.

As a corporation Nike has instilled a mission in each of the employees, and that being, "To bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete* in the world. *If you have a body, you are an athlete. - Bill Bowerman" (Nike.com 2006) Being a part of such a positive energy and force within the business world brings inspiration to the employees. Having a positive mission is very important to the business.

Customer demands

Customer demands for the Army are considered our society and government and what is expected in a given situation. Demands or assumptions of the Army's has put strain and hardship on many of the management and caused confusion to many soldiers in the direction and purpose the organization is going.

As leaders in the industry of Apparel, Footwear, and Equipment in the sporting goods area, Nike has evolved to stay aggressive and continue the commitment to the consumer. Nike reacts within a market to strive forward after carefully observing all aspects and being decisive.
