Organizing Paper
The organize function of management within the company I work for is done by the owner. I am in control of the organization functions that I perform to complete a project. The two main focuses I want to elaborate on are the physical assets needs to start and finish projects, and the knowledge behind work you will be doing. I am choosing these areas of focus, because in the construction industry these features are a necessity to the company. The old saying is, it takes money to make money and for a small business this is very true. "A new term has entered the business vocabulary: diseconomies of scale, or the costs of being too big. "Small is beautiful" has become a favorite phrase of entrepreneurial business managers, (rEsource)."
Small Business
In the construction industry there are many companies that stay relatively small. Their concept has allowed individuals to excel in an area of expertise. These companies are able to focus more on the customer satisfaction and the precision of products delivered to the customer.
Smaller companies can move fast, can provide quality goods and services to targeted market niches, and can inspire greater involvement from their people. For example; PCL construction is working in the bay area building several bridges. They have become a successful and large company. It has now come to light that this large corporation is in dismay with the bridgework they have going on. Even though their organization is set in place, how bad does it look on their organization, when they have been in the bridge building business for many years and have all the problems they are having right now?
Physical Assets
This is the main focus for companies to stay in business. It has become the area of most interest of companies and how to improve the wealth of the company. The concept for these companies is to sell a product that services peoples needs. In my organization the physical assets that we achieve are obtained through the customer. We have a process that allows us to utilize the trades of the construction industry and provide those services to the customer. This organization allows us to minimize the use of our skills and create a turnover rate of completion for the project. The process allows the company to "create value, become rare in the industry, processes are difficult to intimidate, and become more organized. These four criteria highlight the importance of people and show the closeness of HRM to strategic management, (rEsource)."
In order to create this type of environment, companies need to start within and create a group of people who are focused on the company's value.
Because employee skills, knowledge, and abilities are among the most distinctive and renewable resources on which a company can draw, their strategic management is more important than ever. Increasingly, organizations are recognizing
