Proposal for Soccer Program
Our Proposal
We would like to propose that Outback Enterprises run and support a soccer program for boys and girls aged 5 – 18 as well as adult programming. This program would offer a combination of individual skill development, team development, and goalkeeper training. It will not only introduce young soccer player to the game but also provide them with technical training that will align with long term player development that will encourage participants to return year after year.
Boys and girls U5-U18 can participate in a program that will combine both technical training and game awareness every session. Training will run on a 70 to 90-minute schedule, depending on the players age, with a specialized Outback training staff. The staff will have a curriculum throughout the program to follow to make sure that a variety of topics are covered that will encourage individual and team player development.
A typical session would follow this outline:
- General Warm up- 5% of practice time. Will involve movements soccer related and contain a flexibility component
- Specific Warm-Up-5% of practice time. Activities will relate to practice theme of the day.
- Technique practice- 20-25% of practice time. Players practice techniques to build toward game type environments.
- Skill Related Practice-20-25% of practice time. Players apply the techniques in a realistic environment. Introduction to opposition, cues or decisions for players to find solutions for.
- Small-sided Games-20% of practice time. A game that will require players to use what they learned in the practice
- Discussion-The remaining time will be spent reflecting, correcting and discussing various things throughout practice
