Movie Review:
Crash
1). Stereotype from the movie is in the form that because Daniel looked liked a gang member he was trying to cheat Farhad. Prejudice was the fact that all through out the movie Officer Hansen appears to not be racist, but then picks up Peter who reaches in his pocket to show Office Hanson a Christian figure, and shoots him thinking that Peter was reaching for a gun. Discrimination happened when Cameron and Christine Thayer are pulled over because they are African- Americans driving an expensive vehicle. Racism was all through out this movie but stuck out most to me when Farhad went to buy a gun and the clerk acts rudely to him and begins saying racial slurs because he is speaking to his daughter in Persian.
2). There is a part in the movie when Anthony (Ludacris) character who is a inner city car thief says that he believes society is unfairly bias against African-Americans and justifies his actions by saying he would never hurt another black person; but later after attempting to car-jack Cameron, Anthony tells Peter the officer on the scene to shoot Cameron.
3). This is a deep movie, that shows so many angels of all our prejudices, and one that we didn't know we had ourselves. The movie scares me because one of the only characters who seems not to show any prejudices and even seems disgusted by them shoots and kills Peter who he thinks is reaching for a gun but turns out to be reaching for a figure of St. Christopher.
4). Farhad the Persian store owner is very upset because he thinks Daniel wants to cheat him; So when his store is destroyed and the insurance wont cover it he goes to Daniels house to shoot him and accidentally shoots
