One of the articles that I had never heard about or even read anything concerning the death of outsourcing in India. I read the article that was listed concerning that and found that a very informative read.

The advantages of outsourcing as a lot of people have pointed out is cost. It is cheaper labor in India. Paying for the same qualified person in the US is more expensive than India. In your paper I found an interesting fact when you touched on the death of outsourcing in India. Where you put that the cost advantage used to be 1:6 and now it is 1:3 which could hopefully (in my opinion) spell the end for outsourcing in India and leave work here in the United States. Outsourcing is both an economically viable move (as the discussed money saving) as well helping companies being able to lessen their load and put their focus on other things in order to compete in today’s market.

The disadvantage to the company is losing out on “home-grown” talent. Calling a helpdesk in INDIA is not the same as calling a helpdesk in the states. It may be cheaper and their representatives may be equally skilled, but it is NOT the same thing. I consider the fact that most people I talk to complain about having to call India a disadvantage. Would the fallout of this be that people just forget about their product and move on to something more “homemade” ? and by the time the company goes back from outsourcing it is too little too late?

I did not stop to think that many of these companies are signing up for services without actually seeing how it actually works. I own a DELL computer and the company I work for uses HP’s / Compaqs and every time I call for my own personal computer or when I call on behalf of my work I know that I speak with an outsourced individual in India. There are so many
