PPQ Parts Diversity Management

Diversity management is said to be the key to growth in today's fiercely competitive global

marketplace. Corporations cannot hide behind their lack of training in cultural intelligence. If

your organization wants to expand globally you have to embrace diversity. Diversity is not just

about making the numbers anymore it's about how well the organizations treat their employees

right down to the root of your business model.

Issues host foreign countries may face are very apparent. For starters moving your company

to a foreign country is an issue all in itself. You have to take into account the nation's rate of

utilization, all of the internal and external factors that could affect the expansion. Issues the

company will face could be cultural, ethnic, religious, and political barriers. Having substantial

communication is vital. Domestic links may not be available or reliable; the companies

machinery and equipment may be hard to get in a foreign countries, and also to maintain it and

renovate it could be hard in a foreign company. Another issue can be communication, it could be

weak in foreign countries.

Cultural barriers and diversity issues that are commonly encountered are difference in

languages, religions, traditions, and cultures. All of these are more complex then they seem.

When you have people coming from many different walks of life have many differences of

social setup. The cultural impact influences the psychological side of the personality as well

(Jamil, 2008).

Diversity is such a broad term it could be used to describe someone's religion, gender, age,

race, condition, disability, sexual orientation or nationality. If you are talking about diversity in

the work place, this simply means that the population in the workplace is not homogeneous

(ehow contributor, 1998-2012). Diversity has become important in the international arena

because of the international business landscape. There are so many cultures you will come in

contact with. This is an important factor to consider especially if the company will be hiring

different nationalities, there many things that go wrong if the company is not up to par with it's

employees.

If a company doesn't practice diversity on the international level it could mean little to no

socialization amongst the employees, lower morale, lower productivity and greater turnover

causing companies to lose their competitive edge.

Economic factors that could arise during global expansion is global recession this could affect

the demand which in place will negatively influence the investments and profit margins. Another
