My experience with decision-making models is quite extensive. Interestingly enough, I didn't know it until fairly recently. This class has helped me come to the realization that I use a decision-making model in some way, shape or form everyday. Whether it's been through my academic, professional or personal endeavors, I've been making decisions for the better part of my life. For the purpose of this personal perspective paper I'll focus on the five-step decision-making process that I utilize.
Subconsciously, I've been using a five-step decision-making model for most of my adult life. The model I've implemented could be described as a simplified version of the nine-step decision-making model introduced to me in this class. The first step in this model consists of identifying a problem. Second, I brainstorm possible solutions to the problem at hand. Third, I select a solution. Fourth, I implement my solution. Lastly, I evaluate the results of my solution.
A real life example of my decision-making model in action took place recently. When I decided that I wanted to pursue a Master's Degree in Management or Public Administration I inadvertently found myself making step one in my decision-making
