Why I chose to pursue my Master Degree?
It was a beautiful day. The sky was blue and the sun shining vibrantly. When I walked in the Coliseum, I had to locate my section and fine my name. Once found, I took my seat and waited for the ceremonies to begin. Then the big moment happened, my name was called. I walked across the stage, shook the President's hand, walked off turning my tassel thinking school is finally over. I had just graduated for the University of South Carolina. This was a major milestone in what was yet to come. It then hit me, what next? With three children and needing a job, I decided searching for a job would be priority number one. I knew deep down I truly wanted to get my Master Degree, it was just a matter of when. I decided that one my youngest son turned five years old, I would return to school to attain my degree. Well, my son is turned 10 years old in December and I felt that it was time to return to school.
I went to commencement exercises for my Aunt who graduated in December 2006. Believe it or not, her graduation was exactly nine years to the date that I graduated. Days after my Aunt's graduation, she and I were talking and she advised me that she had enrolled in Graduate School. I decided right then that the time was right for me to return to school. I would enroll in Graduate School as well. My Aunt was already admitted, so all I had to do was apply. The following week, I went and applied and was admitted to Graduate School. I was finally on my way to achieving another life long goal of mine.
I currently work for a wireless company that is growing more every day. With the way tat the company is growing, expectations for advancement are growing as well. I am currently a member of the Management team within my company and I am looking to continue to move up the corporate ladder within my company.
