Personal Perspective Paper
The Masters of Business Administration (MBA) is a post-graduate degree in business communication and “is also one of the most sought after degrees in the world because of its value to people in business and administration” (U.N.H.M.B.A., 2008). In this paper, I will discuss how I reached the decision to pursue a MBA and what I expect to gain from completing my MBA program, which happens to be human resource management.
Feelings of inferiority are one of the reasons I decided to attend University of Phoenix (UOP) and give me the motivation to continue furthering my education in the MBA program. I made preparations immediately to start graduate school upon completion of my bachelor’s degree. Understanding how important education is for all individuals, especially women who automatically earn less than our male counterparts, is the second reason I am on a quest towards educational excellence.
Many benefits accompany the MBA including chances for salary increase, career advancement, networking opportunities with successful associates in the field. “Surveys of corporate recruiters and MBAs show that the salaries paid to MBA graduates are higher than those paid to people right out of college and people who graduated with other kinds of master's degrees” (GMAC, 2008). The meticulous training, report writing, presentations and team projects are necessary abilities needed to deal with real business situations. I believe these areas will give me an advantage over others who do not possess these skills.
