Personal Statement
Recently graduated from BA (Hons) Business and Public Relations with a first class honours classification, my family and I have decided that I should progress onto a higher level of education. According to the Sutton Trust, graduates could earn 5,000 pounds more per year with a master’s degree. Although money is not everything, with a higher income could potentially mean a better living and more contribution to the society.
Some of the modules from this master’s degree are further development to my bachelor’s degree. For instance, Managing Financial Performance, Entrepreneurship and Business Venturing, International Marketing so forth, are built up upon some of the previous modules I studied, such as Business Problem Analysis, Small Business and Entrepreneurship, International Business Strategy and the marketing modules. This shows my potential of capability to complete the course with a satisfying classification.
The MSc Leadership and Organisational Performance course is not only theory-based, but also highly practical grateful to its six-month placement right after acquiring the knowledge from the lectures. This is very helpful to any career progression, especially to the management levels. It is because most of the master’s degrees focus mainly on theories but lacking plenty of real-life experiences for students. However coincidentally, a capable manager must learn from mistakes. Therefore it has become my goal to upgrade and prepare myself with this honourable master’s degree.
As a fresh graduate, I do not have enough work experiences to be as competitive in nowadays’ job market, therefore this course from Birmingham City University is exceptionally suitable for me at this stage. By completing this course, not only the level of employability skills is increased, but also potential opportunities from different industries.
Besides, after spending three years in this University, I have got use to the environment, and the lecturers' kindness has captured my willingness to stay in the University for further progression.
