Earlier she quotes him as saying: "At one point in my life, if Beethoven had not been there, I would have killed myself."

Elsewhere, we're informed that an entry in Peladeau's diary specifies that he'll commit suicide when the moon is full.

He admits that some people hate him.

He believes he's successful with women because other men are such lousy lovers.

His crude approach with women is such that he once commented on a prominent political woman's legs - adding that he wouldn't mind seeing them in action in his bed

"I love women."

He especially loves women in grocery stores, where, he says, they are "alone" and "unhappy." That's why he does his own shopping after taking his helicopter to his house in the Laurentians.

"I use the same story every time."

He gets a can of beans, and asks the women what she thinks about them. Does her husband like them? Depending on the signals, Peladeau asks for her phone number.

"That's it, I'm up in the air," he says, joy in his voice. He insists that his success rate is high. Are neighborhood women just a little wary when they see him coming with the beans?
