To the Stakeholders of the Assembly Plant in Eastland, Michigan;

The assembly plant in Eastland, Michigan is going through some very tough competition in the automotive industry. The consumers have other preferences, than the Speedy model; which is costing us our business and the finances we need in order to continue. We have developed a one-year plan that will lead to the closing of the Eastland assembly plant. Within this year, we plan to give notice to the community of our unfortunate closing, give the employee's time to find a job, try to sell the rest of the inventory by cutting prices and inform our customers and stockholders. We want to encourage our employees to stay with us for this next year, so we can develop a benefit plan for you. This benefit plan will include your two months salary, medical coverage that you already have, and our highest recommendation.

We acknowledge that this assembly plant shutting down will affect our hard working employees, reliable consumers, loyal community and loyal stockholders. This is an unfortunate turn of events and we want to apologize ahead of time for this bad news. We want to thank all of you for being apart of this assembly plant of 20 years and know that we have considered your interests in this plant. This is the main reason we chose to inform all of you one year ahead of time. This will give all of our stakeholders a chance to do whatever they need to do so that they will not be affected by the closing of this plant too harshly.

The Eastland, Michigan assembly plant proposes that the company executives are primarily responsible for those laid off, because of the plant closing. We feel that they are responsible for the unfortunate turn of events at Speedy Motors and therefore should do whatever they need to do to provide their laid off employees with compensation pay and benefits, so that they can have the time needed to find a new job.
