Processed Food isn’t as bad
The first essay I have chosen, disagrees with Michael Pollan’s argument, David Zinczenko “Don’t blame the eater”. Michael Pollan states that we should avoid “processed foods”. (In paragraph 1) He says it like it is easy to do but it wasn’t especially for a boy named David Zinczenko he was growing up from a family that was divorced. The father was trying to get his life together. The mother was trying to make the monthly bills, from a logical perspective she couldn't cook since she was working. (In paragraph 2) Michael Pollan claims that the only way to prevent obesity is to avoid “Processed foods” David proved Michael Pollan's theory wrong by getting involved in a health magazine and losing weight. So it shows there are different methods of not being obese.
The second essay I picked was “Food as thought” by Mary Maxfields. (In paragraph 12) Michael Pollan speaks twice about how the diet of processed food makes us “sick and fat”. This engages with Michael Pollan because he doesn’t have any solid concrete proof evidence to show how processed food makes us “sick and fat”. Another great example (In paragraph 3) is that Michael Pollan doesn’t have a stable prescription on how much to eat. He preaches it to other people on how to eat. When he doesn’t have a good foundation of how to eat properly. Mary says “trust yourself’. “Trust your body”. “Meet your needs”.
The last essay I chose was “How Junk food can end obesity” by David H. Freedman. (In Paragraph 23) It explains how Pollnities are confused about about the food intake because they don’t know what the food nutrition provides. This engages with Pollan because his Pollnities should be well aware of what the intake of the food are as well what the nutrition provides. Another example (in paragraph 1) the fast food industry such as McDonalds have been making small improvements to better the health of the customer. This proves Pollan is wrong about his theory that fast food is bad for you. Well with the small improvements, the small improvements are better than nothing and are healthier than a regular burger.
