External Factors
Political issues are concerned with the motives and actions of governments, and the way the legal/
political system impacts marketing efforts. I should'nt have any legal issues with my bar as long as I get
my liquor license, and as long as I keep a clean place in order to pass inspection. Economic issues are
those that make up the monetary climate of the marketplace. Key economic variables include inflation
rates, interests rates, and even employment levels. Together these rates suggest the amount of disposable
and discretionary income potential clients have available. An increase in these levels would be good
for business because when families increase their income levels it usually means they spend more
on leisure activities such as coming to my bar. Sociological issues focus on values that guide the
community members' motives, wants, and priorities. These Sociological values suggest what is
appropriate, what is valued, and what is not. Once you find your target market you should evaluate them
and plan accordingly to ensure good business. When it comes to my target market the priority will be
entertainment. As long as I keep everyone entertained they will keep coming and keep drinking which
means good business for me. The Technological issues relate to the use of various machines in the
workplace. My main issues with this will be the machines used for cooking, cash registering, and the
