BPL Ltd. is one of the leading white goods manufacturers in India. It aims at bringing the best of technology and products to meet the needs of consumers and make their lives comfortable. BPL makes televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves, audio equipment and many more products that provide entertainment and facilitate the business of life.

DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS AFFECTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS FOR BOTH THE ORGANIZATIONS

POLITICAL/LEGAL
Legal and political environment type differs depending on the country in which it operates. Some countries allow a greater degree of freedom than others.
A government of a country can influence business activity in the following ways:
Ð'* Direct state intervention through government agencies that control business activity.
Ð'* Economic and fiscal policy to control inflation rates and economic growth.
Ð'* Legislation affecting company law, contract law and employment law.
Both the organizations get affected by any change in the law or in the government, for e.g. BPL has to meet the standards which are set by the govt. like ISI similarly if there is a change in laws for universities that a student need minimum of 40 marks in order to get admission in the college, thus they have to follow any order no matter what the consequences are it has to function accordingly.
ECONOMIC
There are two types of economic conditions that affect a business : micro and macro economics.
Ð'* Micro-economics is concerned with the nature of each business organisations and their activities such as pricing, cost evaluation and competitive behaviour.
Ð'* Macro-economics is concerned with the overall effects of business activity on the national and/or regional level.
In case of an organization like BPL economic environment is a big influencing factor as it has to check its competitors move in order to stay in the market. For a university if inflation is persisting in the economy of any country then the universities would have to increase it s fees in order to run it in future.
CULTURAL/GLOBAL
Cultural environment is influenced by people related to business activity. It is also influenced by customers, suppliers, employees, general public, politics at all levels, share holders.
Business systems are influenced by the following environmental consideration:

Ð'* Ethical
In case of BPL, the customers are becoming more powerful as they are demanding ever more detailed information about products and services. They want to know about the features, warranties, finance available, and so on. Companies need to be able to deliver information quickly to satisfy these customers. For this purpose they need to keep updating their information systems.
Large number of educated people, changes in life style, increase in urbanization, consumption and a trend of using credit cards has lead to more awareness about newer and more advances IS.
TECHNOLOGICAL
There has been a huge impact of IT on the business environment
Ð'* IT is used for data storage, processing and communication of information.
Ð'* IT applications have had a profound impact on the business, such as CAD and CAM.
In organizations and universities both new and improved technologies create or support substitutes for products, alternative service options and superb quality. In addition, some of today's state-of-the-art products/education may be obsolete tomorrow.
Technology import liberalized, significant effort in internal technology, technological innovation and obsolescence for better working of the organizations.
DIFFERENT TYPES AND CATEGORIES OF BUSINESS APPLICATIONS USED BY BOTH THE ORGANIZATIONS
A specific application program, a set of such programs, or an electronic information system which supports an agency business function or process. There are many software applications used by the organization for its transaction processing or day to day activities of the organization. There are a minimum of seven different types of business applications being used in businesses.
