Psyche the most beautiful of three sisters, is so beautiful she makes Aphrodite the goddess of love and beauty jealous. A mortal more beautiful than the goddess Aphrodite herself, makes her so jealous, she is ready and willing to smite her.
"Who does she think she is?" Aphrodite was saying, "Traipsing around as if she was more beautiful than I."
And that is when she formed her plan to kill Psyche.
Eros, better known as cupid, was told to seek out Psyche and prick her with one of his arrows in her sleep so that she might fall in love with a monster when she should awake.
Eros who soon found himself in the room of Psyche, could not help but to gaze upon her beauty. She is really quite beautiful. Then, taking out one of his arrows he prepares to prick her. He leans over to scratch her upon the arm when he slipped and pricked himself instead. Instantly he falls in love with her and can't dream of letting harm come to her in any way. So he makes his leave.
When he gets back he tells Aphrodite what has happened. She is furious. She lays a curse upon Psyche, so that no one near would come to see her. Soon Psyche grows sad and lonely, which makes Eros sad and lonely.
In his grief he stops shooting his arrows. No one falls in love. No babies are made, men loose their passion for fishing, no fish art being brought in, civilization is falling apart. Aphrodite sees Eros in his mourning and agrees to remove the curse.
"You want Psyche? You shall have her." she says.
It is then that the wind swoops up Psyche and brings her to Eros's castle in the sky. Eros comes to her in an invisible form and tells her he is her new husband and this is her new home. Psyche is very pleased. But she grows disappointed for she can not see her love. He is gone at day, and returns later at night
