I live in a community that is made up of many different ethic groups. The Town of Kearny is a diverse community of 40,000 people. We have many backgrounds in Kearny Whites, Black, Asians, and Spanish all with different features and styles of living. The members of my community do not look anything like me we are all different. Example I’m half Mexican and Cuban tall, a few extra pounds, long black hair, olive complexion, and brown eyes; while my neighbor is Irish short, skinny, short blond hair, and green eyes. Which makes us a total opposite and around town we are all different.
I do have to admit that the police in my community treat a lot of us differently especially Black people. Kearny was an all White town when I first came here and for me to fit in was kind of hard at first; it took me six months just to make friends. While other people (Blacks) took longer. I think that they should look at the person first before they start to judge them. When a Black person is at a store they tend to follow them more around to see if they might take something and cause and problems. I think that this is unfair and unconstitutional for them to still think this way.
Over the years members of my community have grown to get along with Hispanics. It takes some getting use to because I think that every race have a bad side to them. But as soon as they see black people moving in they try to ignore them as much as they can or have often moved out. It is sad but it is the truth. Not knowing someone before you judge them is not the way to stop racism from accruing.
I on the other hand get along with everyone I don’t judge any book by its cover I get to know them first. The information that I have written about is self explanatory I do not side on no one side not even my own because
