I chose FM 99 WNOR Every Thing That Rocks. This station is broadcast on high definition radio, normal FM at 98.7, and it streams online using Liquid Player from the website fm99.com. It is owned by Saga Communications. The President is Dave Paulus and the program director is Harvey Kojan. Harvey also DJs in the afternoons.
This station plays all types of rock and is actually classified as progressive rock according to their website. I found from a newspaper interview of Harvey that the station as I know it has been around for 38 years. The local news in only reported Monday through Friday during the morning show Tommy and Rumble. Shelley reports the news at 7 am, 8 am and 9 am, and then no news is reported during the rest of the day unless there is a very large news event. The DJs are: Tommy and Rumble, Sonja, Harvey, Shelley Tim Parker, and Chode.
The two times that I chose to listen tothis station were from 6 am till 6:30 am and from 1 am till 130 am. The morning selection did not have any songs played because the morning guys were on. During this time they talked about 'Stupid News', their current promotion of "Bite Shelley's Butt" Rumble's obsession with Shelley, the traffic report done by Chill and a house commercial stating the call letters and their BI3 policy. The second period I listened I gathered this information:
Songs: Breaking Benjamin Breath, Evans Blue The Pursuit (7 minutes 9 seconds total for both songs)
Commercial break:
Beach Eye Care: A simple commercial stating how good and inexpensive their lasic eye correction is, followed up by a catchy jingle. The time for this commercial was 1 minute and 4 seconds.
The Funny Bone Comedy Club: Boasting the great food and good times that can be found and the next headlining comedian to play. It also has a catchy jingle. The time for this commercial was 1 minute 4 seconds.
House Ad Break: This was simply Harvey and some sexy woman's voice letting listeners know that they are listening to FM 99, Everything That Rocks - 98.7. This house break was 50 seconds.
Songs: Finger Eleven Paralyzer, Fuel Wasted Time, Greenday Work Class Hero (12 minutes 8 seconds for all three songs.)
Commercial break:
Taco Bell: An ad for their protional 4th Meal. 1 minute 28 seconds
Apple Bees: A simple and quick spot for curb side to go. 1 minute 28 seconds
Both commercials were at total of 2 minutes and 58 seconds going back to the music.
Fm 99s website is fm99.com. The station's webpage is not part of the corporate page, and as far as I could find it does not even link back to the corporate page. On the home page there are links to 20 different areas of the website.
