REACTION PAPER FOR EDUCATIONAL TOUR

1st destination: OISCA (ORGANIZATION INDUSTRIAL SPIRITUAL AND CULTURAL ADVANCED).

              The Silkworm Rearing Project in Bago City is managed by Organization for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement (OISCA) - International, an NGO founded and based in Japan but extends help to developing countries mostly in Asia and the Pacific with agriculture as its main thrust. It helps some people in Bago City financially by giving them a specific job. They have various products made of silk were on display such as barongs, bags, table runners, beauty cocoons, wallets, etc. The steps in making the silk are: first, Cleaning the Cocoons, 2nd, Drying the Cocoons, 3rd.Sorting the Cocoons, 4th, Boiling the Cocoons, 5th, Cocoon Combing,  and 6th the Cocoon Reeling Process.

2nd destination: ECG Farm

              Place where you can buy “pasalubong”. They sell different products made of durian like; Durian crackers, Durian candy, etc. They also have products made of mango like; mango jam, mango bar, etc., goat’s milk products, and pili nuts.

3rd destination: SRA-LGAREC

               They have different working units and it will take a huge amount of money just to build it. The different units are Variety and Pest Management Section (VIPM), Production Technology and Crop Management Section (PTCM), Technology Development and Training Unit, Soils and Laboratory Unit, Support to Research Operation and Services Office (Farm Services and General Support Services).They give a wide land for the sugarcanes. They develop and recommend new high yielding sugarcane varieties for commercial planting through hybridization, selection, and variety testing. Acquires, maintains and characterizes germplasm collection of foreign and local parental varieties for hybridization. SRA at LGAREC produce 22 HYVs in 25 years. Planting materials are sold at P2,668.50/lacsa (lacsa=10,000 pieces). The propagation technique is a method of vegetative propagation where the terminal bud (1.5 cm shoot tip) of the sugarcane stem is cultured in an artificial medium in a germ free environment to produce and multiply plantlets.

4th destination: GINTUBDAN FALLS

               . Place where you can have a perfect time with your family and friends. They have a nice room for a convenient sleep and a pool. You need to walk meters to enjoy the refreshing water from the falls.

5th destination: MAG-ASO FALLS

               Place where you can enjoy the magic of the nature. The falls was so attractive it releases a smoke like shower of mist drop down into a clear and very cold natural swimming pool. There is a pond with beautiful water lilies.
