Recycling

Recycling is the processing of materials into new products. There are many products that can be recycled but the most common ones in Puerto Rico are glass, paper, plastic, and aluminum. Recycling prevent the waste of useful materials and reduces energy usage. In Puerto Rico this recycling will be a solution to the landfill problems.

There are two kinds of household recycling. When the consumers leave recyclable materials in front of their property to be collected by a recycling vehicle and when the householders take the recyclable materials to a collection point. Recycling is beneficial in many ways like for example, it reduces the inputs (energy and raw materials) to a production system. Also it reduces the environmental, social and usually economic cost of manufacturing. It also reduces the amount of waste produced for disposal. Finally it reduce the maximum environmental benefit is gained by reducing the amount of waste produced. Recycling is an excellent way of saving energy and conserving the environment.

There an important part in each material we recycled. Aluminum cans can be recycled and ready to use in just 6 weeks. The largest glass furnace produce over 1 million glass bottle and jars a day. Glass is 100% recyclable and can be used again and again. Glass that is thrown away in landfills will never decompose. Recycled paper produce 73% less air pollution than if it was made from raw materials. Plastic can be taken up to 500 years to decompose.

Recycling is one of the best ways for people to help and have a positive impact on the world in which we live. Recycling is very important for us and the environment because waste has a huge relative impact on the natural environment. By recycling we can help the environment and safe energy. The prices can lower because we are using less material and we are reusing the things so we are saving energy without damaging
