1.0 Introduction
Redgate Company is a software company which is founded in Cambridge, England. The founders of this company are Simon Galbraith and Neil Davidson and it founded in October, 1999. This company creates many tools and products for data professionals and developers, for example, SQL Server, .NET and Oracle. There are 650,000 IT expects who are employed with .NET, Oracle, SQL Server and Azure had used the simple and creatively software that created by Redgate Software. There are more than 100,000 organisations had applied its products such as 93% of the Fortune 100. Its objectives is to design reliable tools and highly usable tools or products which can easily solve the database administrators and developers’ problems which is faced every day. The mission and vision of Redgate Software is to become the greatest software company in the worldwide which is identified as BHAG, “Big Hairy Audacious Goal”. In the year of 1999, the first tool that created by Redgate Software is a Aardvark which is a bug tracker. In the year of 2001, it introduced a NET load tester and ANTS Load. Simple Talk which is a technical magazine for Microsoft technology expert has been launched in 2005. In the year of 2006, SQL Backup Pro has been launched. This company sustains community websites, for example Simple Talk and SQL Server Central. Redgate Software had run an events which is named SQL in the City. Redgate has been received many awards such as UK Agile Awards – Best Use of Agile in the Private Sector 2012, The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies To Work For 2013, The JobCrowd Top 100 Companies For Graduates To Work For 2012/2013 and others.
Because of job satisfaction and freedom, many people like to work in this company. I have choose two issues to analysis this company. These issues are motivation and organisational culture. The issue of motivation plays an important role in an organization because it controls and maintain behaviour and it impacts physical and mental human reactions. To willingness to get the job done effectively and efficiently, the individuals and employee have been highly motivated. It results in business owners and employees satisfaction, increased revenues and increased the productivity of the company. Without regard for efficiency or productivity, employees with the lowest motivation will be tend to work slower.
Organisational culture also plays an important role in an organisation or company. A culture is social control system and it sanctions “wrong” behaving and thinking and reinforces and promotes “right” behaving and thinking. The way employees interact at a workplaces has decide by the organisational culture which is encouraging the employees to loyal and stay motivated towards the management. All the employees can bring on the common platform by the organizational culture. It results that no one would feel left out or neglected in the workplaces. The organisational culture had united the employees which is from different races or backgrounds. A sense of unity had gave at the workplaces from the cultures in an organisation.
