“Life is how you live it, not how you spend it.” This means that not everything in life is money. Also that the most important thing in life is not how much money you have and how you spend your money. Life is how you live your life by doing the things you like and being with the people you want to and being happy. They main character thought he was happy by talking about money, spending money and going to parties. But towards the end he discovered that he actually wasn’t living. When he was with the people he loved even when he didn’t have a lot of money. The life lessons he was taught were to appreciate work and money. The gift of friends, finding out who your real friends are, the gift of having dreams and achieving them and the gift of a day. I think the most important one is the gift of money. Lots of people especially people with a lot of money don’t value what money is worth and stop to think how lucky he or she is by having all of the things he/she has. He main character of the Ultimate Gift had always had money and he had a lot, so he didn’t bother in wasting a lot of money in pointless things. If you have a lot of money then you don’t value the money you have and you will waste it blindly. This movie did inspire me to stop and think about my life, think about how fortunate I am for having a great family who loves me, great friends, a wonderful education and I am healthy. A lot of people don’t stop to think about how fortunate they are. This film was chosen to show the 8th graders so we notice how lucky we are to make and achieve our dreams. And to think about if our friends are real friends or they just want you for what you have. I think the “Ultimate Gift” is a wonderful movie which teaches a lot of things about life especially about being happy with what you have.
