The DaVinci Code remained a New York best seller for many fortnights. This intriguing story by Dan Brown caused the Christian religion to uproar in protest because this novel attempted to disprove Jesus' deity. After writing the book, critics created chaos, further escalated by the author's perseverance. After a visit with Oprah Winfrey, Dan Brown backed down. By standing up for what he believed in, chaos set loose; but by backing down, chaos lessened. The problem eventually depletes.
For instance, at Fort Pierce Central High School (FPCHS) an organization formed called Cobras for Christ. In this small club, Christian students gathered at C lunch in order to pray and talk about their religion in an effort to gain popularity. When the organization finally made way to the classroom, students withheld their hostile feelings. Blinded were the Cobras for Christ, seeing only one religion at FPCHS.
The first amendment of the Constitution states that "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of a religion." Even though this amendment further states that "prohibiting religion is also misconduct," students hold a very diverse idea of religion. From this assembly, distraction from school work follows vigorously. Students have no reason to stop their protest. This battle thus seduces the minds from necessary tasks.
While contemplating this dilemma, one can argue that standing up would cause a double uproar, only bringing war upon this loving group. Ironically, indifference keeps the problem alive. However, the problem may collapse under its own pressure, or an external presence will end the problem.
By sitting down, problems will ultimately fade. By standing up, one becomes naked and vulnerable. One sitting will not fall.
