Report Assessing the Poster Session
Author: Minh Man Tran
Instructor: Luis
Date: Jan 26th 2017
- Introduction
I have recently conducted a survey among the students studying in Luis’s class. This report will assess the poster session related to our academic programs that we presented last week. The purpose of the report is to evaluate student attitudes about their poster presentation and describe some mistakes that they should avoid next time. Factors that I consider included quality of the topics presented, Q&A session and quality of layouts.
- Development
- Quality of the topics presented

As regard to quality of the topics presented, the largest number of those interviewed responded completely satisfied, above three-fourth; which means they were well-prepared as well as conscious for their topics. Only a quarter students feel both very satisfied and somewhat satisfied.
- Q&A session
Turning to the Q&A session, the number of students feeling very satisfied made up the highest proportion, twice as much as those both feeling completely satisfied and somewhat satisfied. Particularly, the figure of being very satisfied, completely satisfied, somewhat satisfied were 67%, 27% and 6% respectively.
- The quality of layouts
On the other hand, many students commented that the quality of layouts should be enhanced next time. What I mean is that headings and other text having the same level of importance should be the same font size in order to emphasize words and phrases, which makes sure that audience can understand clearly and succinctly.
- Conclusion
To sum up, some rubrics given above could organize more active environments related to Q&A session and make the quality of layouts better. Personally, I think this would act as incentive for students who want to be more professional and confident for presentation.
