Responsibility

The definition of responsibility is the state, fact or position of being accountable to somebody or for something. Responsibility is the trait upon which our country was founded. It is also one of the most important traits a person can possess. From the first humans on Earth to the people of today, it has always been a necessary trait.

If the founding fathers of our country had not taken responsibility for themselves and their fellow man we would not have the democratic country we have today. We are lucky that these men took responsibility or we could be a communist country or still run by Britain. Everyday people around the world must take responsibility for him or her self in order to fulfill their everyday needs. If people did not posses this trait they would not go to work, pay their bills, or function in daily life. It is because of this trait that we are able to function as a society. It is also because of responsibility that people are able to raise children. If no one took responsibility for the children they bring into the World people would never feel like taking care of their kids.

I am lucky because I attended a military high school where I learned that responsibility for oneself is the most important thing a person can fulfill. I proved to possess this trait and was put in charge of twenty-five other girls. Because of this I learned how to take care of not only myself but to help others as well and to take the lead in a large group. This was a good foundation for my future and I am learning to apply it to my life outside of military school. I have learned to take control of my schoolwork, as well as hold a full time job, and take care of my little sister quite often. I am still learning many things such as organizational skills that help me to become a more responsible person every day. Getting convicted of driving under the influence was not
