King Cobra Rex
A Snakes Life
Hey what's up! My name is Rex the King Cobra, one of the most deadly snakes that could ever live! I'm 18 ft long, and I have a thick body. It's not easy to live in South East Asia in the dense highland forest. Food is easy to find!
I enjoy eating other venomous and non-venomous snakes such as Pythons & Kraits, but if I can't find any snakes, I love tender morsels like lizards, rats and small birds. My wife is home guarding the nest that we built for our young. Lying close by, she guards the nest and is highly aggressive toward anything that closely approaches the nest.
King Cobra's venom is a powerful neurotoxin. Without medical aid, death is certain for its victims. Beside food, I drink a lot of water to stay healthy. I hunt using my forked tounge which picks up scent particles and transfers it to a special sensory receptor located in the roof of my mouth. When the scent of a potential meal has been detected, I will continue to flick my tongue to find the prey's direction, it will also rely on my excellent eyesight sensitivity to vibrations, and outstanding intelligence compared to other cobras.
After a large meal I may live for many months without another meal due to slow metabolic rate. I'm able to hunt at all times of day, which makes me a excelent hunter.
It was fun telling you about myself ,but I see lunch! So I have to go, but have a nice day. Bye!
