There are many "rights" in America, being that we live in such a different generation from the Bible, the majority of the beliefs are different. Many "rights" we have now, are not in aggreeance with the Bible. One "right" that comes to mind is gay marriage in America. Homosexuality is talked about a lot throughout the Bible. In the Bible, in the Leviticus 18:22, it says," You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination." Being said, this means that within God's eyes it is wrong to have a partner of the same gender. Also another right we have is the right of drugs. God wants are bodies to be clear in spirit and mind, so that he is able to utilize us for his will. When we have things within our system and decide to do bad things, God is not able to use us. Many verses and things said by God do not completely go with what we are doing currently, because of the major time difference.
Human rights are the simple rights, that we have, in which the government is unable to interfere with. The Bible does not say much on human rights, but it does have a few verses that help reflect what situations we have going on now. In the Bible, in Micah 6:8, it says," He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" This verse shows how we should do right, whether it be in our communities or even in an everyday life situations. Not only should you walk in righteousness for the Lord, but also for self benefit. Another example of human rights shown in the Bible is in Proverbs 31:8-9, when it says," Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy." In this verse, God is saying do right for others, just as you would do for yourself. helping others is a major part in the Bible, not only does God look down on those who do not help their brother, but eventually God will do the same to them. Some rights are different in comparison to present time being that the times are very distinct.
