Between the two stories for this week, ‘Death Constant Beyond Love’ and ‘Yellow Woman’ are very similar from the standpoint of the artifice of the main characters. In ‘Death Constant Beyond Love’ Senator Sanchez’s had a very shady side of him as being a politician. The Senator was told prior to reelecting for the Senator position again that dealing with his serious health issues he only has a few more days to live. The Senator was constantly dealing with Nelson Farina who frequently asked for proof of his identification. Nelson Farina was dealing with a situation which accused him of murdering his wife. Farina was determined to straighten that out by sending his daughter Laura as a bribe to the Senator. Sanchez accepts the offer and ends up dying in bed with the daughter of the potential murder which causes a public scandal. In ‘Yellow Woman’ a Native American woman who wakes up next to a man named Silva by the river has a hard time being true to herself / identity. The Native woman was repeatedly called “yellow woman” by the man due to the stories he told that described traits who she was. The way she presents herself as an innocent woman, she ends up agreeing to travel with him. The Native woman has a family back in the village close by to where she woke up. I personally believe that she is fawned of the wild lifestyle she encountered. At the end of the story though she wakes up in confusion and heads back home. The two main characters were tempted with a wild sexual side that caused an issue in their lifestyle.
