Why do I like or dislike A-day B-day scheduling?

From my point of view I don’t like the A-day B-day scheduling. I think that it’s so much harder for the students. It’s not even easy for the teachers. I think block scheduling from previous years was much easier to manage. I think the benefits for this scheduling are nothing compared to how the other schedule benefits the student, myself in particular.

This type scheduling is so hard. The students having to go to the same classes every other day is not as simple as going to the same classes every day. The grades are lower because instead of keeping track every two weeks, the students become lazy and by time the mid-quarter progress reports come out everybody seems to be in complete shock. Also, the teachers have a hard time keeping up with the grades and students work because they don’t see them everyday. Plus, some students have a hard time completing work on time and they have to wait until the next class period instead of the next day! This scheduling is all around just difficult.

With the other scheduling, the students get to move to the others classes when January comes around. Sometimes certain students tend not to be so pleasant but with the stupid schedule that we have now, the teacher has to deal with them every other day for the WHOLE YEAR! Personally if I was a teacher I would most definitely have given my two-week notice during the first week. Also, the problem for some students is that they need more help. But the teacher doesn’t have as good a chance to help the student when they see every other day. By the next time they come in the class, they have probably forgotten. The teachers need to get a chance to know the students learning style and capabilities.
