Should public schools require students to wear uniforms?
"Wow! Look at her with her extreme low cut top, she thinks she's so stackedÐ'...and him with his ripped up jacket with patches safety pinned about, does he even know there not covering the tares?" School faculties shouldn't have to worry about inappropriate dress and slander from students commenting about one another's dress style. Public schools should require students to wear uniforms because it will help students focus less on fashion and more on school work, increase school attendance, encourage faculty to become part of the solution and also help with safety purposes.
While attending public school myself, I use to wake up extra early to make sure I was ready and looking good for school everyday. All I cared about was my dress and not about if my homework for the day was done to turn in. I didn't want anyone whispering behind my back about me not being with the "IN" style. There are a lot of reasons to skip school and ignoring that fact wont help, but requiring students to wear uniforms will eliminate many of them. I have to admit, I hated getting dropped off at private school on the first dayÐ'...especially in a skirt! Yes, I did turn right around to leave but good thing my mom screeched off just in time or I wouldn't have got to see how much easier school life was while wearing a uniform.
Teachers have a great impact on students, but so do students on teachersÐ'...believe it or not, whether emotional, mental or image wise. You have to admit, some teachers out there are really not all that well kept. Maybe, if students are proper in school attire, teachers might feel as if they should maintain themselves too. After all, would you really pay attention to someone in flip flops and a half way buttoned Hawaiian shirt? I don't believe I would. I don't think the teacher's should have a mandatory dress code but I do think they should have a specific
