While it's highly unlikely that you'll ever encounter anyone or anything with supernatural abilities, the Boy Scouts were definitely onto something when they devised the motto "be prepared." In the real world, you never know what's going to happen next. So, to be prepared for the unlikely and the unexpected, everyone should have a well thought-out plan for dealing with superhuman entities.

The most important thing to remember is that everything has a weakness. Everything. Vampire? Garlic and wooden stakes. Werewolf? Silver bullets. Superman? Kryptonite. No matter what unnatural abilities an opponent may possess, there is a vulnerability even the frailest of mortals can exploit. So step one is know the thing's weakness. If you don't know of one, then you should make it your highest priority to keep your distance and observe the creature until its Achilles' heel becomes readily apparent. This is somewhat difficult to do if you're under attack, which brings me to the second most important thing to remember: It's perfectly acceptable to run and hide if you feel the need to. The average human possesses no natural means of self-defense, which means that they must instead rely on their intelligence to survive, and there are times when retreat is definitely the most intelligent course of action. Finally, you should also keep in mind that this is an inhuman monster you're up against Ð'- if you can't beat it on your own, hey, nobody's perfect. If there's no way you can do it yourself, don't go at it alone, find help. Remember, if it's a beast with the strength of ten men, then all you need to do is go find ten men with a total strength that is greater than that of the monster to assure victory.

Of course, no list of do's would be complete without a contrasting list of do not's. The most important thing to not do is let the creature harm
