Selling Sex in Heaven was a huge eye opener for me. Before watching the documentary, I only had a vague idea of what the sex industry is like here in the Philippines, those that were taught to us or mentioned vaguely in class. The prevalent issue that was tackled in the documentary, sex tourism in the Philippines really opened my eyes to more than just what I am used to and to more than just what we always learn in school. Through this documentary, I learned that there is an actual market here for foreigners who want to just have sex with women and have no attachments. The documentary also showed how poverty in the Philippines leads to people getting jobs that are not necessarily good for them, but jobs that are solely because they do not have any other choice. Women who come from poverty have this common notion that selling their bodies are the only way they can get quick cash to fund their family’s needs. Those who are part of the sex industry though, should not only be educated in school per se but more of the other opportunities they can take even if they have not gone to school. The problem with the women who join the sex industry here in the Philippines is that they think that prostitution is the only way for them to earn quick cash, but the truth is there are other better ways for them to earn money.

These women need people to educate them about other jobs they can take that will lead to them having better lives, but industries also have to open themselves to these people who are in need and are looking for a way to earn money. This leads to my second solution which is opening up more job opportunities for people. The only reason why many resort to having illegal and inhumane jobs is
