We've all cried over something we've lost weather it be temporary or permanent. We've all had to give something up when we didn't want to. Losing a person or having them taken away from you is one of the most heart wrenching feelings I've ever experienced. I'll never forget the way I felt.

The school year of 2005 had come to a spectacular finish. My class had graduated from what seemed like a lifetime of public school. I had no worries in my head and everything was looking up. I had a whole summer to look forward to full of tubing, wakeboarding, hanging out with my friends, and most of all spending time with my girlfriend. For some reason she's the one person that I don't get sick of no matter how long I'm with them. We spent every day we possibly could together. Nothing else seemed to matter.

As the summer began to wind down the matters of colleges came into play. Betsy, my girlfriend, had decided she wanted to go to State whereas I was undecided in what I wanted to do. Being unsure of what I wanted to do ultimately decided my college choice. So I soon found myself at Ferris and Betsy three hours away at State. The transition was very difficult in that I was so accustomed to this girl being in life as much as she was and now I would be without the security of being able to be there for her if she needed me.

Weeks have gone on since she left for college, and I've seen her occasionally. I'm slowly starting to get used to this change. Although this change isn't permanent it still has had a great impact on my life. You never really realize how much someone means to you until they're out of your life, weather temporarily or permanently.

We've all had to go through a time where someone was taken away from against our wishes, but eventually, with time, you become used to it and it becomes easier. Change is sometimes rough but no matter what everyone
