The current issue I found interesting is sexual predators and their punishment for what they did. Most sexual offenders are not incarcerated for a substantial amount of time and usually re-offend when they are released. Because sexual offenders have no visible identification, you never know when you run into one. I believe that sexual predators should be incarcerated for a very long and should have visible identification.
I believe that the criminal justice system doesn't send child molesters away long enough, as they do rapist and other sexual predators. For example, a man was sentenced to 470 years in prison for the rapes he committed, but a child molester is usually sentenced to 5 to 6 years. I believe that child molesters need to be sentenced to a life sentence because most, if not at all are re-offenders. They re-offend because they have a sexual preference for children and usually maintain these desires throughout their lives. For example, a child molester was released from prison after serving a six year sentence for the rape of a six year old boy. He told police that he got away with abusing over 240 children before being caught molesting a single child, and when released would do it again. Another example, just happened recently, an ex police officer was ordered to prison after molesting two four year old children and when released on bail for this crime, tried to rape a 14 year old girl. That's why I believe child molesters need to incarcerated for life because they scaring that child's life forever and/ or taking the child's life.
There is a difference between a child molester and a pedophile, a child molester is an older person, male or female, which experiences any type of sexual act with a child. A pedophile is someone who never fulfills their fantasies, they seem content in the privacy of their own homes, which is still a sick act.
I believe that law enforcement agencies need to come up with a better solution for tracking child molesters or other sexual predators. Yeah, they have the Megan's law website, which is located on the state police website, but if the offender doesn't register when they are released from prison than the law enforcement agencies have no idea where the suspect is. I think they should put a tracking device on them, like their ankle, as soon as they leave prison, so if they go anywhere they're not suppose to police personnel can locate them. For example, if
