SHAL Trans Logica (Shawn and Alain Transportation and Logistic) is a logistics company base in the economic capital of Cameroon, Douala with a mission to become the largest logistics and road Transportation Company with both national and international transportation. SHAL Logica was Created due to the lack of long distant transportation within the region and the poor and expensive rail services that has been in use for the past decades. The idea was nurtured by Azeafah Alain and Shawn N and name after them. The company's strategy is to consolidate her customers and customers service by making on time deliveries, having a competitive pricing plan and hiring the best drivers for their trucks. We will do mostly long and dry van trucking and we will serve business mostly in the central African region including Cameroon, Central Africa Republic, Gabon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Tchad. We will offer both Truck Load and less than truck load within the country and to the above named countries within the CEMAC zone (Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC)
The business will develop a reputation for her accurate and on time service and also a sophisticated Web and software functionality, allowing customers to align their business with us automatically and get fast feedback too.
The business will be managed by AZEAFAH ALAIN as the CEO and chief operating officer , who will be the majority owner and Shawn Neves as the COO and managing director. Both from Wittenborg University of applied sciences with an IBA in Logisitics
SHAL Trucking will focus mainly on the food industry companies in the region since the main exports and major activity in the sub region is farming and main exports are farm products too, However, in the future we plan to offer diversify into other industries and other regions out of the CEMAC ZONES. In addition, we will also provide services to the following companies: supply companies, timber yards, and many other companies that use hauling for their cargo.
SHAL Logica will serve four different market segments. The first, as mentioned above is the food industry. This segment is growing at an annual rate of 5% with 2800 potential customers identified already. The second is the computer industry with a 7 % growth rate and 1100 possible customers. The retail industry is the third with a 4% growth rate and 1800 customers. The last segment is a catch all "other" segment growing at 3% and 300 customers.
We will compete with in the national trucking with some other local companies like Diamond Transport and winter transports but for the international sector we will be the number 1 in the region and will dominate with our price structure and timely response and delivery.
The company will start with an amount of €125,000 contributed by the two named partners for financing the acquisition of trucks, equipment, staffs and funding operating expenses. Projected revenues for 2015 to 2018 are €100,000, €150,000, and €200,000, respectively.
We will start three 18-wheeler trucks and will expand our operations to use nine 18-wheelers by the end of the third year, using auto loans to finance this expansion. Gross margins will be around 55%, making a significant profit at the end of the third year as we scale up the business.
Beyond three years, we will expand to different zones like ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) and add trucks with refrigerated and temperature-controlled trailers.
Over the first three years of operations, SHAL Logica will seek to realized the following
- Establish bases in Yaounde, Bamenda , Muyuka, Libreville, and Malabo
- Purchase Ten 18-wheeler trucks with dry van trailers
- Hire 12 full-time truck drivers and
- Achieve strong annual revenue
- Partnerships with distribution centers and warehouses to achieve its goals.

SHAL Logica, a startup truck company head office in Douala, Cameroon, will provide trucking and logistics management for companies and individuals in the cemac countries namely Cameroon, Tchad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Central Africa Republic and Gabon, the business will haul freight from suppliers, manufacturers to warehouse, distributors and retailers and will operating in partnership with warehouses, and wholesalers.
