Should Animal Farm be read in English One?

        Should Animal Farm be required in english one? Some students and teachers say that the book helps people in the long run of your high school English career. Others believe that the book doesn’t help very much more than any other book that is read in class. After looking at both sides of the argument, I believe that the book should stay being taught in English one and is very helpful to up and coming students.  Also the book has some very intelligent messages and gives some excellent allegories to the russian revolution.

        Some parents and teachers think kids aren’t ready for Animal Farm. They say that the book is too advanced for English one and that they can’t fully understand the message coming from the book. There will be pressure that the kids have to understand the book to be with the class which many kids may find a big weight to hold on their back. For these reasons, people insist it shouldn’t be read in English one.

        I believe it should be read. There will always be kids who don’t fully understand the message in any book you read. Also the book helps kids move into harder English classes in their future. If kids are excelling because of a book why get rid of it? Also the book fits with many lessons in the English one curriculum and is easy to work with in the classroom. If the school wants kids to excel at the same rate or maybe even higher rate than they should not take the book away from English one students.

For all of these reasons, the book should stay in the English one class.If teachers and students want to change the way they work with the book they can consider new lesson plan or different techniques. That way kids can have a more fun learning experience while still learning some tough material.
